Quick Cup Expands Into Seattle Market

Quick Cup Co-Founders Keith McCormick and Keoki Long announced that the veteran-owned company has expanded into the Seattle market. The official launch coincides with the annual Specialty Coffee Expo taking place April 19 – 22, 2018, at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. The company is headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska.

“We’ve enjoyed much success in Alaska, with more than 50 locations across the state using the Quick Cup app, and now are ready to move into the Pacific Northwest, known for its strong coffee culture and as one of the best coffee cities in America,” said McCormick, a U.S. military veteran whose lifelong passion for innovation and coffee, complemented by his international travels, sparked the idea of Quick Cup. McCormick recently was named Alaska Entrepreneur of the Year by the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce during the Annual Young Professionals Summit.

According to the NCA National Coffee Drinking Trends 2018 report, 24 percent of consumers order coffee by app weekly.

“This is not an audience to be ignored and a number that is only expected to increase,” said Long, who also is a U.S. military veteran with a passion for coffee. “We’re really bringing something new to the game – nobody else lets you select your coffee shop based on the wait time. You can see the time to each shop in near real time. It speeds up the ‘order ahead’ line for coffee shop owners, too, and helps them avoid pickup bottlenecks.”

Quick Cup is focused on a single mission: to get coffee-cravers to their favorite cup of java in the shortest time possible. The company leverages a patent-pending algorithm for estimated wait time/quickest option. Shop owners can see where the consumer is in relation to the shop after the consumer makes their purchase and when they arrive at the shop through the Quick Cup app and can delay their order if they are stuck in traffic, for example.                                                                          

This eliminates the No. 1 problem that other coffee mobile app users encounter: arriving too late and finding a cold cup of joe or getting there too soon and having to wait for their order to be completed.
